–Chris Lewis, Founder,
Chris Lewis should know something about the emotional impact of cancer. In addition to his own cancer journey, which included seven years of constant treatment, he is the founder of a well-known online support community for cancer survivors. His raw and honest posts, primarily about the emotional impact of cancer, have earned a wide, highly engaged readership in his native UK and around the globe.
Chris relates that community’s experience as well as his own when he says that the emotional impact of cancer can cut deeper and last longer than the actual physical ordeal, trying as that is.
One common, well-documented thread among survivors’ emotional experiences is fear: fear of cancer’s financial impact, fear of its impact on relationships, fear of cancer recurrence. There’s a large body of evidence supporting fear’s deleterious effects on physical wellbeing and association with increased rates of disease. Another sad truth is that fear makes it much harder to take action to resolve other layers of emotional unrest. Hard enough to cope with in itself, fear is a major obstacle to healing.
As doctor and mentor to cancer survivors, that realization presented me with a significant professional challenge. My efforts to heal your body and spirit would be of limited effect, unless I could help you surmount the fear barrier that threatened to undermine your ultimate wellbeing.
I needed a resource to help you reliably defuse fear: a method quicker, less expensive and frankly, more reliable than months or years of counseling. When I looked around and didn’t find that resource, I created one. It’s been tried, tested and published…and it’s time to share it with you!
Join me as I reveal the keys to releasing your fears, and take the first steps with you right then and there.
